Driver : ROGER MATTHEWS

Home town : HOLMFIRTH
Number : 32
Car : LOTUS ESPRIT
Engine : Twin Yamaha TZ750 Bike engine 1505cc
History : Matthews had won the 1988 title in his Elan before adding the Esprit for 1989 initially with a 1498cc engine in class C. Used the Elan twice in 1991 but mostly the Esprit with a slightly bored-out 1505cc taking the car into class B. Chassis was aluminium monocoque, gearbox was Hewland FT200, running gear was March F2. Fast but fragile and sadly the enthusiastic Matthews had a bad crash in it at Mallory.
